This Privacy Policy applies to You Know Its Me Studios, its public website, and the software, apps, games, interactive products, and digital products it publishes.
It explains the studio’s current privacy practices, including what information may be processed through this website and through Strata. Additional product-specific notices may be provided when a product requires different disclosures.

Summary
You Know Its Me Studios designs its current website and products to minimize unnecessary data collection.
You Know Its Me Studios does not:
- sell personal information
- display advertisements
- use advertising trackers
- collect analytics for advertising purposes
Strata is designed to keep user configuration and launcher data on the user's device. Strata does not:
- require a Strata account
- upload the user's launcher configuration to You Know Its Me Studios
Some optional Strata features require access to Android system information or third-party services in order to function.
Company Website
The You Know Its Me Studios website is a static website hosted through GitHub Pages.
You Know Its Me Studios does not use its own analytics, advertising trackers, behavioral tracking tools or account system on this website. The support page currently has a form with sending disabled. Information typed into it is not transmitted to the studio or saved by this website.
GitHub may process technical and website-usage information when it serves the website, such as an IP address, browser or device information, referring pages, requested pages, and the date and time of a request. GitHub operates independently of You Know Its Me Studios and handles that information under its own privacy practices.

Communications
If you contact You Know Its Me Studios by email, the studio receives the information you choose to send.
This may include:
- your email address
- your name, if included
- the contents of your message and any attachments
- product, app-version, Android-version, or device details included in a support request
This information is used to respond to your message, provide support, troubleshoot reported issues, and maintain necessary communication records.
Email communications are processed through the studio’s email service provider. Please do not send passwords, authentication codes, or other sensitive account information.
Strata Product Information
Strata is an Android launcher developed and published by You Know Its Me Studios.
The following sections explain what information Strata accesses, how that information is used, and when information may be sent to third-party services.
Information Stored on Your Device
Strata may store the following information locally on your device:
- Favorites and app groups
- app ordering and group membership
- launcher layout and density settings
- Glance Deck layout and module configuration
- selected themes and custom theme settings
- navigation and search preferences
- language preferences
- weather location preferences
- cached weather information
- cached application names and icons
- battery-module preferences
- other launcher configuration selected by the user
This information is used to restore your launcher quickly and preserve your preferences between sessions.
This information is not automatically uploaded to You Know Its Me Studios.
Installed Applications
Strata is an Android launcher and therefore needs to identify applications that can be launched on your device.
Strata may access information such as:
- application name
- application icon
- package name
- launchable activity/component
- application shortcuts exposed by Android
This information is used to display and launch applications inside Strata.
Installed-app information is processed locally on your device and is not sent to You Know Its Me Studios.
Location
Strata's Weather feature may use approximate device location if the user chooses Device Location.
Strata does not require precise location for weather functionality.
Location may be used to:
- retrieve local weather forecasts
- determine the city or general locality displayed in the Weather module
When Weather is enabled, approximate coordinates may be transmitted to the weather provider described below.
Users may instead configure a manual weather location.
Strata does not use location for advertising, profiling, or tracking.
Weather Data
Strata currently uses the MET Norway Weather API to retrieve weather forecasts.
When weather information is requested, information sent to the weather service may include:
- approximate latitude and longitude
- technical request information required to retrieve the forecast
The user's IP address may also be visible to the weather provider as part of normal Internet communication.
Weather information may be cached locally on the device to improve performance and reduce unnecessary network requests.
MET Norway operates independently of You Know Its Me Studios and is subject to its own terms and privacy practices.

Calendar Access
If the user enables calendar-related Glance Deck features, Strata may request permission to read calendar information.
Calendar access may be used to display information such as:
- upcoming events
- event time
- event title
- calendar information
- event location, when available
Calendar information is processed locally on the device.
Strata does not upload calendar contents to You Know Its Me Studios.
Users may deny or revoke calendar permission at any time through Android settings.
Media Information
Some Strata features may access Android media-session information when the user grants the required system access.
This may include:
- currently playing media
- media title
- playback state
- media application
- available playback controls
This information is used to display and control media from Strata.
Media information is not uploaded to You Know Its Me Studios.
Bluetooth and Connected Devices
Strata may use Android Bluetooth or connected-device APIs for optional features such as displaying battery information for supported connected accessories.
Depending on the device and Android version, Strata may access:
- connected-device identity
- connection state
- publicly exposed accessory battery information
This information is processed locally and is not uploaded to You Know Its Me Studios.
Camera and Flashlight
Strata may access Android camera hardware information to provide flashlight controls.
This access is used only for flashlight functionality, including supported flashlight intensity levels.
Strata does not capture, store, or transmit photos or video as part of this functionality.
Wallpaper
When enabled through Strata's theme behavior, Strata may set the device's:
- Home-screen wallpaper
- Lock-screen wallpaper
Strata generates these wallpapers from the currently selected Strata theme background.
Wallpaper images are generated and applied locally on the device.
They are not uploaded to You Know Its Me Studios.
Network Access
Strata uses Internet access only where required by features that depend on online services, such as weather information.
Most launcher functionality operates locally on the device.
Data Sharing
You Know Its Me Studios does not sell user data.
You Know Its Me Studios does not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
Information may be transmitted to third-party services only when necessary to provide a user-requested feature, such as sending approximate location coordinates to the weather provider to obtain a forecast.
Service providers may also process limited information when they provide website hosting or email communication services. These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices.
Data Retention
Launcher configuration, cached application metadata, and other preferences remain on the device until they are:
- changed by the user
- cleared through Strata
- cleared through Android application settings
- removed when Strata is uninstalled
Cached data may be refreshed or deleted automatically when it becomes outdated.
Email communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, provide support, maintain communication records, or address legal and security needs.
You Know Its Me Studios does not control the retention periods applied by independent service providers such as GitHub or the studio’s email provider.
Permissions
Strata only requests Android permissions needed for features the user chooses to use.
Depending on enabled features and Android version, these permissions may include access related to:
- approximate location
- calendar
- Bluetooth / connected devices
- camera / flashlight hardware
- notification or media-session access
- wallpaper management
Users can review or revoke Android permissions at any time through the device's system settings.
Some Strata features may stop functioning if their required permission is revoked.
Children
The You Know Its Me Studios website and Strata are not specifically directed toward children.
You Know Its Me Studios does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
You Know Its Me Studios designs its current website and products to minimize collection of personal information. Strata keeps launcher configuration on the user's device whenever possible.
No software system can guarantee absolute security, but You Know Its Me Studios takes reasonable measures to limit unnecessary data collection and exposure.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as You Know Its Me Studios, its website, Strata, or other products change or add features.
If a product later introduces additional online services, premium services, account features, cloud synchronization, or other functionality that changes how information is processed, this Privacy Policy or a product-specific notice will be updated accordingly.
